In our first year of marriage we got inspired and wrote a Marriage Mission Statement that hung on our wall until we moved at the beginning of August.
Now that we have an additional family member, a new place to live, and all the growth in ourselves that’s happened since our first statement, it’s time for something new!
This time around, we’re coming up with a short, simple list of our core values. This is just one idea I’ve picked up recently from Simple Mom.
Why short? Why simple? Why core values?
Simplicity is a key word for us right now. Short and simple means that when we go to make a decision on something pertaining to our family life/home life - it’s easier to remind ourselves what our priorities are. We’re also letting our minds brew over what kind of family life we want ours to look like, especially now that kids are in the picture. We’re building a foundation for ten years or more with the choices we make now about our core values.
